Who we are

The Humboldt-Elsevier Advanced Data and Text Centre (HEADT Centre) is a research initiative with a focus on research integrity and its various facets. The quality of research, including both raw data and published results, is relevant not only for researchers, but also for students, publishers and their staff, commissions on research misconduct, as well as all people who are affected by research outcomes in daily life. Considering grey zones in measuring the integrity of research plays an important role in this, as does the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Partners & Collaborations

The projects are based at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where two units set up the HEADT Centre and initialize research in the two core areas:

  • the Berlin School of Library and Information Science (Institut für Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft) is working on issues regarding Research Integrity, and
  • the Department of Computer Science (Institut für Informatik) is doing research on Research Integrity Technology and GDPR.

More institutions both from within and outside of the university with an interest in these topics may join as our research progresses.

This research is funded by Elsevier. The HEADT Centre is an independent cooperative venture agreed by Humboldt-Innovation (HI), which is the technology transfer unit of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
